About Susan M. Brierley

Susan M. Brierley is president and senior planner-designer of Due East Planning, Inc., a private land use, planning, and design firm located on the east end of Long Island. Susan is a graduate of Temple University, where she earned a Bachelor’s of Science in Architecture.

          After graduation, Susan returned to the east end where she began her career in land use consulting with a prominent Southampton based consulting firm. Here she was a planner and director of their design department gaining valuable experience working on residential and commercial projects throughout the east end. In 1998 she was recruited by a newly founded planning firm in East Hampton as the senior planner and design consultant on residential and commercial projects. She was involved in all aspects of project research, development and management remaining there until 2016 when she founded Due East Planning, Inc.

          Susan is a native of East Hampton where she lives with her husband and three amazing kids.


A Timeline of Our Experience

  • 1991- Susan earned her Bachelors of Science Degree in Architecture from Temple University in Philadelphia, PA

  • 1992 Susan began her career as a freelance drafter for Randy Parson, a former East Hampton Town Councilman who founded Landmarks LLC. There she prepared extensive hand drafted plans and maps used for presentation

  • 1995 – She joined the Graphic & Design Department at Inter-Science Research & Associates where she continued to learn and grow in the planning field.

  • 1999- Susan was recruited to Land Planning Services in East Hampton where she was a Senior Planner, responsible for all aspects of project management.

  • 2016 – Susan is the founded Due East Planning Inc.
